Gunma University, Graduate School of Medicine

The 58th Annual Meeting of the Japanese Society for Neurochemistry (JSN) will be held at Saitama Sonic City in Omiya, Saitama-shi during the three-day period from Friday, September 11 to Sunday, 13, 2015. JSN is an academic society for nervous system research with a long history since 1958. Annual meeting has been providing a forum for active discussion across basic and clinical research boundaries, and produced many unique researches and collaborative research achievements.
The main theme for the 58st Annual Meeting has been set as “Material brain, the harmony of molecules”. Numerous molecules such as proteins, neurotransmitters, lipids and nucleic acids function dynamically yet harmoniously, and create culture and civilization on earth. We would like to reaffirm how brain work and discuss its functions from various aspects in this meeting.
We are planning plenary lectures, symposia, oral-sessions, graduate-student sessions, luncheon seminars and poster sessions during the three-days of conference. We place a special emphasis on the oral sessions for graduate-students and allot a good amount of time. We are strongly hoping that many graduate-students take this opportunity and present their works.
Moreover, outstanding scientists who made substantial contributions to neurochemistry field will give talks about historic discoveries in scientific history session.
Omiya is located near Tokyo and is convenient for access, shopping and entertainment. There are also many places to visit in this area, including Hikawa Shrine with more than 2000 years of history, railroad museum, zoo, and beautiful parks. I am looking forward to seeing you in Omiya.
